Social media is a big part of our world today. From one end of the world to the other, people are posting, tweeting, retweeting, liking posts, commenting, gaining followers, increasing their friends’ lists, etc.

Social media relies heavily on the internet. But, its rapid growth and its extensive reach make it a viable currency in today’s world.

Social media is advantageous in many regards, mainly because it is easy to spread information with the click of a button. There are other remarkable impacts of social media, which far outweigh its negative effects and risks.

Your social media presence is not just a placeholder; it could be the key to achieving your dreams in today’s world. For one, it is the biggest market in the world so, as long as you can showcase your skills and talents, you can rest assured that you can reach millions around the world in minutes.

To use social media to achieve your dreams, one needs to build a strong social media presence.

There are a few essential requirements that one must tick to build a strong social media presence. They include:

1. Creating a strong social media profile – Your profile is your presentation of yourself to the rest of the world through. Your profile helps you to tell your story as no one else will. It is your home and where people can find you. Just as you would build a nice home, and you would decorate it to make it conducive for your habitation, your social media profile must carry important details about who you are, and it must be appealing for guests.

2. Define your interests – You cannot thrive on social media if your interests are randomly defined. Social media can accommodate all sorts of people with diverse interests, but you must know the things you want so that you will not be lost in the crowd. If you are able to define your crowd, people with the same interests will begin to flock around you, and from sharing knowledge with them and leveraging their skills, you can reach the top quicker than you imagine.

3. Follow the trends – Follow the trends, but do not get carried away by the trends. Social media can cause you to lose sight of value if you allow yourself to be caught in the bubble of new trends, hashtags, and challenges. They have their advantages, but you must know how to use them for your benefit.

4. Create and share value – Your social media presence is useless if it does not give any value to your audience. They wouldn’t even stick around for too long. When you have successfully defined your interests on social media, your work is to reel out valuable content, and materials that your audience will appreciate.

5. Steer clear of toxic social media – There is a lot of evil going on in the world already. You do not need to accommodate such on your social media. To build a strong presence on social media, you must create a protective edge around your presence online.
